Cloudflare launches Zero Wire on Radar: plain-language briefings on critical Internet CVEs

Cloudflare has launched Zero Wire, a public vulnerability intelligence feed that lives in the security section of Cloudflare Radar. The company describes it as a news wire for critical security developments: each briefing explains a vulnerability in plain language, says which teams should investigate it, lists recommended actions and links to the evidence and the vendors' own guidance.

Zero Wire is not meant to be a catalogue of every CVE. Cloudflare says it selects critical issues in Internet-facing software, such as web applications, the runtimes and libraries they depend on and services exposed to the Internet. A dedicated Cloudflare protection such as a WAF rule is not a condition for inclusion, and where Cloudflare controls can help, the briefing explains their scope and configuration.

The homepage splits briefings into "Needs attention", for issues that still require assessment or action, and "Reference", for those where guidance has stabilised. Each card carries a status and a last-checked date, can be searched by CVE or issue name and is tagged by technology. Cloudflare also provides a pre-compiled prompt that teams can give their own agent to assess the impact on their infrastructure. The company's example is the recent php2shell issue in the PHP runtime, where updating a WordPress or Magento plugin alone does not fix the underlying flaw.

Cloudflare ties the launch to AI-driven vulnerability discovery, which it says is increasing both the number and the speed of critical disclosures.

What it means

The value is triage, not detection: a short card that separates "known exploited" from "fix available" from "under investigation" is what a team needs at seven in the morning. It complements vendor advisories rather than replacing them, and the briefings still have to be checked against your own systems.
